The Turkish Ceramic Sector Workshop was successfully held at Mövenpick Hotel in Istanbul on December 17, 2010 thanks to participation by the Foreign Trade Under-Secretariat (DTM), Turkish Ceramic Federation and Turkish Eximbank in addition to a total of 24 representatives from 14 ceramics companies. The opening speech was delivered by Mr. Bahadır KAYAN, Co-President of the Ceramic Promotion Group (STG) at the workshop; following a presentation by Mr. Güven BORÇA, the owner of the company, Markam Danışmanlık, which acts as Mark Consultant for STG, on the “Latest Condition of the World Ceramics Sector”, Mr. Germiyan SAATÇIOĞLU, Secretary General of the Turkish Ceramics Federation, held two presentations titled, “2009 Statistics on 27 EU Countries – General Trend” and “EU Carbon Emission”.

A senior expert from Turkish Eximbank held a detailed presentation titled, “EXIMBANK Financing Facilities and Loan Insurances” at the workshop where the company representatives took part interactively. In addition, information was provided by a DTM expert contributing to the workshop to the audience about the “Communiqué on the Development of International Competitiveness”. Following the presentations held on various subjects which closely concerned the sector, comments of the company representatives taking part in the workshop were obtained on the planning of promotional activities which will be carried out by STG in the forthcoming period.
